Welcome to The Long Shot

Hi, my name is Sean Wagner-McGough, and I’m a sportswriter who sees far too many movies far too many times and tweets far too much about movies. Instead of tweeting long threads about movies, I’ve decided to start writing about movies once a week, every Monday. Posts will vary. Sometimes I’ll write about a new movie I saw in theaters. Sometimes I’ll write about a movie I’ve seen dozens of times that I recently rewatched. Sometimes I’ll rank movies and actors and directors and characters and so on. Sometimes I’ll write about a new trailer. Sometimes I’ll write something reacting to news and/or rumors. Beyond that, there’s no real plan. I just want to write about what I find interesting about movies, and I hope you’ll find it interesting too.
